ECE Lead Teacher

Responsibilities:
Must maintain a rich, child-focused, developmentally appropriate environment and curriculum for the children in the ECE Program.
Plan and implement activities which are designed to develop a range of social, cognitive, and/or motor skills for preschool aged children.
Supervise assistants and volunteers working in the classroom, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.
Manage and motivate the preschool team to include encouraging professional development of staff.
Ensure adherence to all state regulatory requirements are met, to include Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) guidelines and that all reports are submitted on time.
Gather and maintain data respective to each child which will facilitate the completion of two (2) summary reports per year. Data is to be gathered by way of anecdotal records, developmental checklists and portfolios.
Ensure the safety of all children enrolled in the ECE program.
Take necessary steps to assist ECE with achieving National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) accreditation. (Upon obtaining certification, teacher must take steps to maintain it.)
Attend required training sessions, seminars, in-service trainings and local conferences as required by NAEYC and licensing, to include programming related to HighScope Curriculum.
Support, cooperate with and communicate with other administrative staff.
Work and communicate with staff, parents and students in a manner that facilitates and maintains positive working relationships with all involved parties.
Behave, speak and dress in a professional manne
Carry out any other tasks or goals respective to the requirements and philosophy of the ECE Program
Qualifications:
The applicant for the ECE Lead Teacher position must possess at least an Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or a similar discipline and experience in or knowledge of ECE curriculum. Possession of CDA Certification and five (5) years of documented leadership experience in the absence of a Bachelor’s Degree is acceptable. The applicant must have the knowledge and ability to facilitate best practices in Early Childhood and the disposition to work positively with others. The ideal applicant will have experience related to serving in an organization that has previously attained at least Level 3 in the Paths to Quality Accreditation Program. Most of all, the applicant must have respect and a love for children..
Performance Standards:
The Lead Teacher must exhibit leadership and professionalism for all employees at all times. The ability to train staff to ensure their compliance with organizational and government regulations is imperative. The Lead Teacher is also directly responsible for ensuring that children that graduate from the program are intellectually and behaviorally ready to attend a kindergarten program. This person must also submit grant reports in a timely fashion according to their reporting date.
ECE Assistant Teacher

Summary: As a part of our Early Childhood Education Program staff, the Assistant Teacher will help the children learn through play and hands-on experiences. Christamore House provides a foundation for learning both socially and academically. We are a Paths to Quality Level 3 and a On My Way to Pre-K early childhood program.
Responsibilities:
Provide a safe learning environment which will allow enrolled children to learn how to interact with others and provide for their daily needs
Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and implementing a variety of age-appropriate activities daily.
Maintain a quality classroom environment that is clean, organized and well equipped with a wide variety of safe, age-appropriate equipment and materials.
Attend all required staff meetings.
Keep certifications current (i.e. CPR/First Aid etc.).
Participate in offered trainings to increase knowledge in early childhood development.
Maintain daily communication with the Lead Teacher of ECE.
Assist in preparation for Parent/Teacher Conferences.
Attend all field trips.
Treat other staff, students and parents with respect, dignity, and professionalism.
Consider including the working hours and days for the position.
Need to be able to lift, bend, kneel push, pull and carry up to 70 lbs.
Support Lead Teacher in parent engagement activities
Qualifications:
The applicant for the ECE Assistant Teacher position must have at least an Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education. A CDA Certification with three (3) years of documented work experience in an early childhood program is acceptable in lieu of an Associate’s degree. The applicant must also have appropriate reading and writing skills to perform the job successfully. This includes reading emergency information, prescription labels, first aid and emergency directions, daily menus and lessons, dietary information and intake information. This applicant must also be proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel, and Publisher. Must be familiar with High Scope Curriculum. The ideal applicant will have experience related to serving in an organization that has previously attained at least Level 3 in the Paths to Quality Accreditation Program. Performance Standards:
The ECE Assistant Teacher must adhere to all policies of the ECE and all state regulations. The Assistant Teacher must also assist the Lead Teacher as needed to ensure the ECE operates in an acceptable and appropriate manner. Daily communication with the Lead Teacher of the ECE is paramount to the success of the Assistant Teacher.
